(More customer reviews)I searched and searched for a replacement coffee maker and hoped this would be the one. It isn't. First of all even before I was able to use it, I cut my hand on the inside of the coffeepot while washing it out for the first time. Where the glass and plastic meet it's very sharp and when your hand is inside with a sponge, be very careful. After getting cut I had to buy one of those long handled sponges so I could clean the inside and save my hands.
I thought I'd like the regular brew/strong brew feature, but after a while it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Also, after using it each day for a month or so, the coffee isn't as hot as it used to be.
I also don't like the lid. You have to remove it in order to clean the pot, but after the first time it's removed, it never fits back snugly again. Now as you pour coffee into your mug, the lid lifts up and drips all over. For some reason it also took a long time for the plastic smell to get out of the filter basket. I cleaned it with everything I could think of and ran lots of brew cycles with vinegar, but the smell never left completely.
The best feature is the no drip/sneak a cup. All my previous coffee makers dripped every time and eventually the bottom plates rusted. Not this coffeemaker.
However this one feature isn't enough for me to keep using this pot. I've had it for a few months now and am looking for a replacement.
Why can't a company make a great coffeemaker?
