My first thought was that I had not put the unit together properly. After two more attempts, I determined that bottom of unit had leak - poor workmanship.

Brew up to 12 cups of great-tasting coffee with this easy-to-use coffeemaker. Just add a measured amount of ground coffee, pour water into the water tank using the water-level indicator on the side of the water reservoir for accuracy, press the lighted on/off switch to the "on" position, and it takes care of the rest. The included glass carafe provides a generous stay-cool handle for a comfortable grip, a removable lid, and a drip-free pouring spout for graceful serving. Best of all, the coffeemaker allows for sneaking a quick cup before the end of the brewing cycle--simply remove the carafe from the machine to pause the flow of coffee, pour a cup of coffee, then return the carafe to the machine to continue the brewing process. Other highlights include a swing-out cone-filter basket, a nonstick warming plate, and hidden cord storage to help keep countertops looking tidy. The coffeemaker measures approximately 11-1/5 by 7-3/5 by 15-2/7 inches.
